A good day . . .January 31 2007

Posted by juliehrr in : Uncategorized :

I’m writing to you from my perch atop the armchair once again . . . such desperate measures . . . it’s really rather comical . . .
I’d show you a photo of my feet today, vs. the day I flew out of Seattle, but, they are covered in bandaids–not a pretty sight . . . LOL!

This show is so huge, that you really cannot even hope to visit every booth on your list; you’re bound to miss some. But, here’s what we found yesterday:

hamptondoobug.jpg

Hampton Arts is now licensed to produce clear stamps for Doodlebug Designs and they are quite darling–I’ve always been a fan of both Hampton and Doodlebug, so this is a fun union to see–I love that set on the lower left with all the frames–my brain is spinning with all the fun things to be done with that . . .

rubbersoul.jpg

Rubber Soul had a few new clear sets to release–I really got a kick out of the Spring Mom set, as it reminds me of myself; always on the go. Only the mom stamp looks so happy and relaxed where as I always look frazzled and haggard . . . pfffftttttt!

willnway.jpg

Do you remember DJ Inkers? Well, they’ve renamed their line Will ‘n Way and come out with some new stamp sets that caught my eye–the ribbon and and border sets look like a lot of fun to play with and I had fun hearing how this family business is truly all family–not only does Mom do the illustration work, but Dad, and the kids, do as well and I loved getting to know about how all of them take part in all aspects from the manufacturing to the illustration, and the management side of things.

This image appears quite blurry, but in fact, what you are seeing are hundreds of transparency overlays by Hambly Screen Prints. I’d never seen these before and was amazed at the variety of transparency overlays with *uber* cool graphics–you could even cut portions of the acetate apart for use on a card, etc.

ellisonsizzix1.jpgellisonsizzix2.jpgellisonsizzixbigz.jpg

Had to stop by Ellison, to pet my beloved Big Shot–It was so cool to see the layered flower dies, the new impression plates (YESSSSSS!!!), and check out the BIGZ!!! Are these not fabby????? *Must* get some!!!

annaws.jpgannaws2.jpg

Who’s that girl? (big happy grin!) It’s our own Anna Wight (SweetMissDaisy)! The Whipper Snapper (sorry, about my original error the late nights and exhaustion are taking their toll) booth had some of her newest stamps to share with us, and samples of her work up on the displays! Hi, Anna! We’re waving and blowin’ you kisses!!!

americanartstamps.jpg aas3.jpg

The Stick Chick line by American Art Stamp is so quaint and charming! I LOVE ‘em!!! I know Genie1314 (Jen del Muro) uses and loves ‘em! DARLING!

When the owner of American Art Stamps realized it was my birthday, this sweet man gave me some of these great stamps to take home and I ’bout passed out in gratitude–I mean seriously, is there any better gift than rubbah for one’s birthday?

alma.jpg

And, if that wasn’t enough, I got to meet Alma de la Rosa, Owner of the Cat’s Pajamas! She was assisting American Art Stamps in their booth, and I was so excited to meet this friendly chick with such a warm smile and you know her stamps are just so stinkin’ cute and fun!

There’s so much more to share, but my sister’s pickin’ me up here pretty soon, so I’ll blog more about the show from there–I have a feeling her highspeed connection is better than the molasses on a frozen pipe we’ve been dealing with here at the hotel . . . (wink!)

You will get a kick out of this, I saw the stamps with the dog and cat on a tag…and I thought….I have got to get those for SweetMissDaisy! They are so her. I am such an admirer of hers….then I scroll down and see who made those stamps…Anna Wight! That would have been really silly to send her the very stamps that she makes!! Well, at least I know her style!!!
